Know The Story Behind The Story

One day, I was giving a retreat to a bunch of bigwig executives.
As a whole, the group was very happy to be there.
Except for one guy -- one of the vice presidents -- at the back of the room. If horses suffered from menopause, that was what he looked like: He snorted around, kicked his hoofs about, creating dust clouds everywhere. While all were listening to my talk, he'd stand up and walk around, disturbing everyone, chatting with people and munching chip!
Obviously, he didn't like being there.
I guessed he was forced by the company's president to attend the retreat.
This menopausal horse was getting to my nerves, so I approached him after my talk.
The evil laboratory in my brain provided me with a few opening lines to use.
"Let me see...You became VP by marrying the owner's daughter, right?"
"You're a VP? Does that stand for Vile Personality?"
"So, what Al Quaeda cell do you work for?"
"Are you by any chance demon-possessed?"
Of course, my favorite was..."Hi, are you having hot flushes?"
Thankfully, I didn't choose any of the above. Instead, I took him aside and sincerely asked, "Hi, brother. How are you?"
After some awkward moments, his story came pouring out.
"Last month, my wife was diagnosed to have cancer," his voice trembled, "and the doctors don't know how long she will last. I hate being here because I want to be with her every waking time I have."
He wept like a baby.
Suddenly, I felt tinier than a virus.
Can anyone step on me and squash me, pleeeease? I deserved it.
I said, "Brother, can I pray for your wife right now?" He nodded.
I laid my hand over him and prayed for her healing.
You won't believe what happened next.
For the rest of the retreat, the man was as attentive as a contemplative nun.
I learned two lessons that day:
One, I'll never call anyone (even in my mind) a menopausal horse again.
Two, I need to know the story behind the story. Without it, making judgments is insanity.
********* DEAR LORD, we pray that we shall never judge a brother's actions until we know his motives. It is better to err on the side of charity than to misjudge anyone. Remind us that the faults we see in others' lives are sometimes true of us. May our expectation of others be tempered by an awareness of our own weakness. Lord, help us to lovingly build up one another and show kindness for your honor and glory.

sms

... Don't ever try to understand everything. Some things will just never make sense. Don't ever be reluctant to show your feelings. When you're happy, give into it; when you're not, live with it. Don't ever be afraid to make things better, you might be surpised at the results. Don't ever take the weight of the world on yopr shoulders. Don't ever feel threatened by the future. Take life one day at a time. Don't ever feel guilty about the past, what is done is done. Learn from any mistakes you might have. Live a happy life ! :)

Know Yourself From These Situations . . .

Look at the following scenarios:

A) Two people trapped in a lift.
B) Nobody in a deserted village except yourself.
C) Pollution of any kind (to the sea or land etc.)
D) Buildings - collapse / fire disasters / natural disasters.

Which one u felt is the most miserable?

Interpretations:

A) Two people trapped in a lift:
You feel a bit inferior about yourself. But you can actually differentiate between the "black" against the "white" very well. However when it involves personal feelings, you are in a total mess!!!!

Love life:
You can manage a one two one relationship but when too many competitors or targets appeared, you will tend to panic and ruin everything instead! Do not process the ability to flirt around. Try not to be a boring lover.

B) Nobody in a deserted village except yourself:
You are basically a person who enjoys looking back to the past. A very emotional person indeed. Easily influenced by the people or surroundings around you. Eg. if the society is sad about the death of Princess Diana, you will also share the same sentiments or when watching a sad movie.....like Titanic, you will be so engrossed in the movie
that you ended up being sadder than the main casts in the movie !!!!!

Lovelife:
Very Messy! Are you a very confused person? Sometimes you like to be left alone, Sometimes you want to be love,
Sometimes you need her/him, Sometimes you don't?? Does it sound familiar? You better sort out about yourself before you cause another party to be in pain for you.

C) Pollution of any kind (to the sea or land etc.) :
You are suitable to go into politics cos u are able to differentiate between wrong from right pretty well and plus........you are very decisive.

Lovelife:
However when it comes to love, you are very INDECISIVE......and so you are not suitable to fall in love. As in similar to You sometimes need him/her, sometimes you don't......same advise ! ! You go think it over and better not hurt another innocent party ! !

D) Buildings- collapse/fir disasters /natural disasters :
You are a person who is full of ambitions and creativity. You are very concerned about changes in the issues around you. You are also a very temperamental person. Mood swing tend to be your cup of tea.

Love life:
You are very easily attracted to the opposite sex ..........and the good thing is:
You are also a "hot target" among the opposite sex. You can easily attract the opposite sex... Basically a very "Popular" lover. Sometimes you'll just wonder why so many people like to chat with you. A very "PEOPLE" person!

36 Christian Ways To Reduce Stress

An Angel says, "Never borrow from the future. If you worry about what may happen tomorrow and it doesn't happen, you have worried in vain. Even if it does happen, you have to worry twice."
  1. Pray
  2. Go to bed on time.
  3. Get up on time so you can start the day unrushed.
  4. Say No to projects that won't fit into your time schedule, or that will compromise your mental health.
  5. Delegate tasks to capable others.
  6. Simplify and unclutter your life.
  7. Less is more. (Although one is often not enough, two are often too many.)
  8. Allow extra time to do things and to get to places.
  9. Pace yourself. Spread out big changes and difficult projects over time; don't lump the hard things all together.
  10. Take one day at a time.
  11. Separate worries from concerns. If a situation is a concern, find out what God would have you do and let go of the anxiety. If you can't do anything about a situation, forget it.
  12. Live within your budget; don't use credit cards for ordinary purchases
  13. Have backups; an extra car key in your wallet, an extra house key buried in the garden, extra stamps, etc.
  14. K.M.S. (Keep Mouth Shut). This single piece of advice can prevent an enormous amount of trouble.
  15. Do something for the Kid in You everyday.
  16. Carry a Bible with you to read while waiting in line.
  17. Get enough rest.
  18. Eat right.
  19. Get organized so everything has its place.
  20. Listen to a tape while driving that can help improve your quality of life.
  21. Write down thoughts and inspirations.
  22. Every day, find time to be alone.
  23. Having problems? Talk to God on the spot. Try to nip small problems in the bud. Don't wait until it's time to go to bed to try and pray.
  24. Make friends with Godly people.
  25. Keep a folder of favorite scriptures on hand.
  26. Remember that the shortest bridge between despair and hope is often a good "Thank you Jesus."
  27. Laugh.
  28. Laugh some more!
  29. Take your work seriously, but not yourself at all.
  30. Develop a forgiving attitude (most people are doing the best they can).
  31. Be kind to unkind people (they probably need it the most.) ]
  32. Sit on your ego.
  33. Talk less; listen more.
  34. Slow down.
  35. Remind yourself that you are not the general manager of the universe.
  36. Every night before bed, think of one thing you're grateful for that you've never been grateful for before.

GOD HAS A WAY OF TURNING THINGS AROUND FOR YOU. "If God is for us, who can be against us?" (Romans 8:31)

Bulaan

Habang papalapit ako sa aming bahay,
Papalayo naman ang loob ko kay Inay.
Dinig ko sa isip ang kanyang tungayaw,
“Pagpapalain tayo dahil sa atin Siya dadalaw.”

Nang papasok ako sa tarangkahan,
Papalabas naman ang mga nagsipagdasal.
Umaapaw sa tao ang munting tahanan,
Paroo’t-parito ang mamang nakasaklay
Amoy langis ng niyog ang paligid.

Nagkulong ako sa silid,
Habang naglalakbay ang aking malay.
Alam kong sa mga sandaling ito,
Kung hindi ka manghihilot ay manghuhula
Iniisa-isa mo kung sinu-sino ang sinungaling;
Nakikiapid o hindi lubos na nananalig.

Maya-maya’y ikaw ang Mahal na Birheng
Manghihikayat na magrosaryo,
Sasalit ang Diyos Amang magsasabi
Ng nalalapit na paghuhukom:
Kandila, asin at benditadong tubig

Buong paglalambing kang humiling
Ng nais mong hapunan.

Kadena na lamang ng paborito kong aso
Ang aking nagisnan.
